Spring is in the air, and it's finally time to open the windows and let out all the stuffiness of winter. Spring is a perfect time to start fresh, and that includes getting your house deep cleaned.
Spring cleaning can be daunting, especially if you don't break your tasks down into smaller chunks. Here at Sha Faun Enterprises, we tackle one room (or even half a room) at a time. Before you know it, your house will be clean and ready for a new season of joy! Keep your stress levels down and get your house spring-ready with Sha Faun and our favorite Young Living essential oils for cleaning! Give your kitchen a do-over. Every spring, we try to tackle our kitchen first. The kitchen is the center of our home. We cook, eat, meet, and live in our kitchen. Every spring, we try to work in our cabinets and get rid of expired or old foods and give our appliances a good cleaning. Young Living Essential oils are a great way to keep your kitchen smelling fresh. When you clean out your fridge, place a few drops of your favorite essential oil into a carton of baking soda. We love using citrus for its fresh and clean scent. The combination of baking soda and Young Living essential oils will keep your fridge deodorized for months. Refresh with drops of essential oils every few weeks! Create your own all-purpose spray using essential oils. An empty spray bottle, a few teaspoons of dish soap, and several drops of your favorite essential oils are all you need to create an effective all-purpose spray cleaner. Tackle your counters, your sink, and even the shelves in your fridge using your cleaner. Again, we love citrus oils for the kitchen, but lavender and rosemary create a wonderful and uplifting scent for a household all-purpose spray cleaner. Give your bathroom a once over. Like the kitchen, we like to tackle the bathrooms in the spring, too. Here at Sha-Faun Enterprises, we use the spring as an opportunity to empty the bathroom cabinets and drawers. We toss old toothbrushes, empty toothpaste tubes, and give our drawers and cabinets a thorough cleaning. Bathrooms have strong odors. We enjoy using strong scents in the bathroom to tackle those strong odors. Try making a homemade window cleaner using a spray bottle and:
When making homemade cleaning products, we recommend using distilled water. Tap water tends to have minerals and salts that can cause your cleaner to be less effective or leave streaks behind. Tackle Your Bedrooms Last: Once you've cleaned and organized your kitchen and bathrooms, it's time to work on the bedrooms. Here's your chance to get rid of clothes you don't wear anymore or get clothes out of your kids' drawers. Use your all-purpose spray to freshen up the toys your kids have been playing with all winter. When you strip your beds, we recommend using a linen spray to freshen up your mattress and even your curtains. Combine distilled water, a splash of rubbing alcohol, and your favorite Young Living essential oils into a spray bottle for a refreshing linen spray. We love lavender for the bedroom as it can help promote feelings of calm and relaxation. Don't try and do it all at once. Spring cleaning shouldn't be a marathon. You've spent all year using and living in your home. Trying to get it all done in one weekend isn't reasonable or fun. Take your time and go from room to room. Get your family involved so everyone can enjoy making the house fresh for spring!
